Woman Files Claim Against the City of Huntington Beach Over Fall Injury

January 30, 2012 - According to reports a woman has filed a claim against the city of Huntington Beach after falling and being injured.

According to the lawsuit that is seeking $75,000 Rosa Herrera age 56 suffered injuries after falling on July 25th in Huntington Beach. The claim was filed January 23rd against Huntington Beach.

Herrera claims that she fell and tripped on a raised sidewalk, where tree roots had caused the sidewalk to become lifted on Flamingo Circle where she resides.
The suit claims in the fall Herrera injured her knees and right arm, fracturing her wrist that required two surgeries.

The claim includes that Herrera has current medical bills for approximately $61,000 and is asking for $14,000 in lost wages, since she has been unable to work since the fall and might ask for more according to the claim filed. Huntington Beach City officials said that the claim is being reviewed and if it is denied Herrera has the choice to drop the claim or to file a lawsuit.
