November 30, 2011 - According to reports an early morning I-405 rollover crash sent two women to the hospital in Irvine.
According to the California Highway Patrol the rollover crash occurred at approximately 7:00 a.m. on the I-405 in the vicinity of MacArthur Boulevard off-ramp.
The California Highway Patrol officers at the scene said the northbound I-405 rollover crash occurred when the driver attempted to exit the freeway too late at MacArthur Boulevard. The driver made an abrupt right turn causing the Nissan Versa to go out of control.
According to the California Highway Patrol two women were transported to the hospital after the Nissan rollover crash. The lanes of the I-405 were open by approximately 7:30 a.m. while authorities removed the vehicle that was not blocking traffic.

November 27, 2011 - According to reports a pedestrian was killed in a hit and run accident and police are seeking a black Mustang.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies who responded to reports of a pedestrian involved in a hit and run at approximately 10:00 p.m. in the vicinity of Martin and Jay streets in Carson.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies found a man dead on the road, near the intersection and he was identified as Papaiva Masaga age 58.
Masaga suffered massive traumatic head and body injuries during the hit and run. Sheriff’s deputies stated that Masaga was walking at the time he was struck by a black Mustang.
According to sheriff’s deputies the 1994-1998 Ford Mustang was last seen traveling westbound on 223rd Street from Main Street.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department believes that the Ford Mustang will have severe damage to the front passenger area of the vehicle and authorities are asking anyone with information about the hit and run or the driver of the vehicle to contact the Carson Sheriff’s Department. House Explosion Seriously Injured Man and Leaves Two Others Uninjured
November 26, 2011 - According to reports a man was seriously injured in a house explosion and two others in the house were uninjured.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, they received a report of a house explosion at approximately 2:05 a.m. at 2990 Lowell Avenue.
Firefighters found debris scattered around the one story house and the windows blown out. They found a girl and woman that were not injured inside of the house and a 29 year old man that sustained second and third degree burns over approximately 35 percent of his body, fire officials stated.
The man was transported by paramedics to USC Medical Center and is reportedly listed in critical condition. The cause of the home explosion is still under investigation, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Pickup Rollover on I-5 Freeway Closes Lanes--No Injuries Reported
November 15, 2011 - According to reports a pickup rollover on the I-5 Freeway, closed lanes Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol the pickup rollover accident occurred at approximately 9:05 a.m. on the I-5 Freeway in the vicinity south of Lake Forest Drive.
The rollover accident that closed lanes of the I-5 Freeway involved a Toyota Tacoma that was in the No. 3 lane of the I-5, when the tire blew out causing the vehicle to veer left and then swerve right. The truck overturned in the No.5 lane, according to the California Highway Patrol Officer at the scene.

Whittier Man Dies After Contact with Power Line
November 14, 2011 - According to reports a Whittier man died after coming in contact with a downed power line.
According to police the man that died was a 24 year old that lived in the 8100 block of Friends Avenue and has been identified Joel Ramirez.
He was found lying on the ground and officials found a power line that had fallen and caught the home on fire.
Ramirez was transported to the hospital by paramedics in critical condition and died from the injuries from the downed power line. Ramirez 46 year old mother attempted to help the 24 year old and was shocked, it was not known if she was also hospitalized.
Southern California Edison owns the power line that authorities believe could have come down due to weather and is under investigation. According to a spokesman for the power company at least nineteen homes lost power on Sunday when the wire fell.

Two Teen Girls Hospitalized After Being Struck Near a Covina High School
November 7, 2011 - According to reports two teenage girls were struck by a vehicle near a Covina high school Monday morning.
According to authorities two teenage girls were struck by a vehicle at approximately 6:44 a.m. Monday morning in the vicinity of Lark Ellen Avenue and Tudor Street near the Covina Gladstone High School.
The two teens approximately 14 years old were crossing in a crosswalk on Lark Ellen Avenue when they were struck by a 2007 Honda Civic. The Civic was traveling southbound at approximately 30 mph.
The condition of the girls was not immediately known, but it has been reported that both were in critical condition.
One of the teens was transported by helicopter to County-USC Medical Center and the other teen was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. The driver, identified as a 30 year old woman told Baldwin Park California Highway Patrol that she did not see the teens, before she struck them.
