September 5, 2011 - According to reports a truck and Metro train collided in Downtown Los Angeles. According authorities a pickup truck was struck by a Long Beach bound Metro train, Monday at approximately 8:40 a.m. The collision occurred in the vicinity of the 1500 block of South Flower Street in Downtown Los Angeles.
Authorities believe the driver might have been driving on Venice Boulevard when it collided with the northbound Blue Line Metro train. There was one person injured in the collision and transported to the hospital with undetermined injuries, according to authorities.
The trains that were running on a holiday limited schedule at the time, according to Metro officials expected after the accident that there would be at least a 30 minute delay between Downtown Los Angeles, the Washington and 7th Street stations.
