May 25, 2011 - According to reports a woman was struck and fatally killed while trying to save a dog running in traffic on February 13th. The fatal crash took place at 11:00 a.m. on February 13th when Mara Steves age 48 was struck and killed by Adam Harrison Hall age 27.
Hill was involved in a collision with another vehicle and then continued onto the sidewalk where he struck Steves killing her instantly. Two people in the vehicle Hill collided with, Steven James age 59 and Anna Gaffney age 56, were both injured.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Hall was arrested Tuesday when a warrant was put out for his arrest. According to prosecutors Hall was under the influence of several drugs at the time of the collision and when he struck Steves. The drugs included methamphetamine, diazepam and morphine.
Hill has been charged with driving under the influence, with special enhancements for causing injuries to more than one person and murder. Prosecutors stated that his previous convictions were an aspect in their decision to charge him with murder. At the time of the collision and the fatal injuries caused to Steves , Hall was on probation for two DUI convictions.
Hall was booked in the Orange County jail where he is expected to be held in lieu of $ 1 million in bail and can face up to 21 years in prison, upon conviction.
