February 18, 2011- According to reports a driver that is suspected of driving under the influence crashed into a restaurant injuring a three year old child.
According to Long Beach Police, a vehicle crashed into a popular Long Beach restaurant, Tacos Don Chente at approximately 5:50 p.m. Thursday on 101 East Pacific Coast Highway.
Police suspect the driver might have been under the influence of alcohol when they drove through the parking lot and into the front of the building, striking a man and three year old, causing the Long Beach accident. The man and toddler were standing in line at the time they were struck by the vehicle.
The three year old was transported to the hospital in serious condition, according to authorities and the man sustained minor injuries and did not request to be transported to the hospital.
The Long Beach Fire Department and city building safety investigators are conducting and investigation to ensure the structure is safe.
