December 23, 2010. According to reports GM is recalling 109,000 Cadillac’s and trucks for two different issues. The GM Cadillac CTS models that are being recalled are from 2007 through 2009 due to an issue that prevent the front passenger airbag from deploying in an accident.
According to GM stated there can be a , kink, bend or fold in the front passenger presence sensor. When the airbag becomes disabled the status indicator on the rear view mirror will show the airbag is off, the airbag indicator will be illuminated and the service airbag message will appear.
GM said that in the event of an accident that would cause the airbag to activate and it does not, the injuries could be more severe. They also stated there have been no reports of injuries due to this issue.
GM is recalling 1,200, 2011 Cadillac Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalance, Silverado LD and GMC Sierra LD vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled due to an issue with the rear axle, according to the National Highway Safety Administration.
GM stated the vehicles are being recalled due to the rear axle cross pin that might fracture or shift out of position. This could lead to the axle locking and causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration the axle if the pin shits could cause the axle to lock up.

Buena Park Police Officers Injured in Rear End Crash
December 13, 2010-According to reports two Buena Park Police officers were injured in a rear end crash.
According to California Highway Patrol Police and Buena Park Police Sgt. Brad Geyer, the two Buena Park Police officers were involved in a rear end crash that occurred at approximately 3:09 a.m. Sunday.
The accident occurred when the police officers and an inmate they were transporting to the Chino State Prison, according to Sgt. Geyer. They were traveling eastbound on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim in the vicinity of the 241 Freeway when they were rear-ended by a vehicle.
The two officers sustained minor injuries and the California Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash. No further details have been made available.

Teen Injured in School Wood Shop Case Goes to Court
December 11, 2010-According to reports the case of a 13 year old that was injured in a school wood shop class has gone to court.
The 13 year old was injured in the woodshop class that resulted in slicing off two of his fingertips, while the teacher had left the classroom.
The court will now decide if the teacher leaving the student unsupervised is at fault or if the student was.
The 13 year old Anwar Stetson a student at a Los Angeles middle school, according to defense attorney Keith Wyatt stated that Stetson was in a rush to finish a project and his hand slipped off the wood. The attorney, stated Stetson made a mistake and for that he had to pay a terrible price and that happens sometimes in life.
Stetson’s attorney brought to the court's attention, that the 13 year old was left unsupervised by a teacher who has been teaching 30 years.
The jury agreed with Wyatt, in determining the student was responsible for his own actions. They did find the teacher negligent, but awarded no damages.
Plaintiff's counsel stated that personal responsibility is an increasing matter, but to have a student completely unsupervised that is injured and he is completely held responsible is shocking.
