January 15, 2010 (by Horatio Algren) According to reports a three car collision closed the 101 Freeway during the Los Angeles morning commute in Encino.
The accident according to authorities occurred just after 6:00 a.m. on the 101 Freeway in the vicinity of White Oak Avenue. The three car pileup was in the westbound lanes backing up the commuted between San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles.
According to the California Highway Patrol firefighters on the scene had to extricate people from their vehicles, though they did not have information on the injuries that were caused by the accident.
The California Highway Patrol stated drivers should consider other routes and suggested Ventura Boulevard.
