A Culver City Police Officer and A 21 Year Old Van Nuys Man Die In I-10 Wrong Way Crash

According to reports by Los Angeles personal injury lawyers, a wrong way crash took the lives of two people and shutdown the eastbound lanes of the I-10 Freeway in Los Angeles West Side. One of the deceased was a Culver City Police Officer and the other is reportedly a 21 year old man from Van Nuys.

The crash occurred in the vicinity of National Boulevard when according to California Highway Patrol Officer Miguel Luevano, a silver sedan traveling in the wrong direction struck the officer who was driving east. The crash engulfed at least one of the vehicles in flames. Officer Luevano stated the accident occurred ay approximately 5:00 a.m. and the officer was driving a four door Dodge Charger. It was not reported if the officer was working at the time of the crash, but the vehicle is one that is often used as an unmarked vehicle.

Police were called by a motorist who is a radio reporter, Pete Demetriou that saw the vehicle traveling in the wrong direction at approximately 65 miles per hour at about 4:55 a.m.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes and one westbound lane of the I-10 also known as the Santa Monica Freeway and closed at the 405 Freeway.

Three Weekend Fatalities On 57 Freeway

According to reports by motor vehicle accident lawyers in Orange County, three people sustained fatal injuries in two separate accidents during the weekend on the 57 Freeway.

The California Highway Patrol stated that a pedestrian was running on the 57 Freeway in the vicinity of the 91 Freeway interchange when the person identified as a male was struck by two vehicles. It is suspected the man was intoxicated at the time he was struck on the freeway at approximately 11:30 p.m. It has not been released why the man was running along the freeway at the time of the accident.

The second accident on the 57 Freeway took the life of two passengers in a vehicle the California Highway Patrol reported was traveling at approximately 85 miles per hour. When the diver swerved off the freeway crashing into a tree in the vicinity south of Imperial Highway. Due to the impact when the vehicle struck the tree it burst into flames, the driver and passenger in the front seat escaped the vehicle. The two passengers in the back seat did not make it out of the vehicle and were killed.

According to the California Patrol the driver who had fled the scene was found a short time later and was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughters while intoxicated.

Vehicle Crashes Into Store—Driver Suspected Of DUI

According to reports by motor vehicle accident lawyers in Los Angeles County, a vehicle crashed through a empty storefront and South Gate Police suspect the woman driver of being under the influence.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. when according to reports witnesses said the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control, after which the vehicle jumped the curb on Pacific Boulevard.

According to South Gate Police Officer Ed Huffmon the vehicle then struck part of a chiropractors office, then drove through the storefront which was vacant, and through the wall into the Studio 77 Hair Salon. Due to the hour, which the accident occurred, the hair salon was empty.

In the vehicle was the driver identified as a 20 something female and a female passenger, which both sustained minor injuries including scrapes, and bruises. The passenger was released at the scene and the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of allegedly driving under the influence.

Hollywood Crash Takes The Lives Of One Woman And Five Year Old Child

According to car accident lawyers Los Angeles, the California Highway Patrol a morning accident that occurred on Highway 101 took the lives of a woman and a five-year-old boy.

The accident occurred in the southbound lanes of the 101 Freeway in the vicinity of Hollywood when the Volkswagen they were traveling in struck the guardrail and flipped onto the onramp of Sunset Boulevard. The California Highway Patrol stated the accident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m and the driver Anel Slagoski age 31 and five year old James Slagoski were both thrown from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

A young female whose identity was not released received minor injuries in the accident and transported to a local hospital.

California Highway Patrol have not released if the woman, the five year old and the girl were related, they did state the three were from Whittier.

The accident closed two southbound lanes of the 101 Freeway and the Sunset Boulevard onramp for approximately three hours while the vehicle was removed and the California Highway Patrol investigated the scene of the accident.

Suspected Street Racing Crash Fatal For One Driver

According to reports by injury lawyers Los Angeles, a suspected street race took the life of a Northridge man in the vicinity of Tampa Avenue.

Street racing is suspected in the crash and police have stated there is evidence to believe a second vehicle was present and may have contributed to the driver losing control of the 2004 Toyota Solara he was driving. The crash took place in the 11600 block of Tampa Avenue, the Toyota swerved off the road and rolled down a 40 foot embankment, hitting a tree according to Norma Eisenman Los Angeles Police spokeswoman. It was also stated that no other vehicles were at the scene of the accident when authorities arrived. Eisenman also stated that an eyewitness had seen two vehicles racing down the hill prior to the crash.

It was reported the accident took place approximately 5:40 a.m. and according to the Los Angeles Fire Department one man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and a passenger was injured. The man that sustained fatal injuries name has not been released pending notification of his next of kin.

Late Night Crash Sends One To The Hospital—Closes 101 Freeway Lanes

According to reports by injury attorneys in Los Angeles, a late night accident sent one person to the hospital and injured others after the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The crash was a one vehicle crash, a driver of a gray Lexus lost control of the vehicle and struck the center divider. The vehicle smashed the guard rail according to the California Highway Patrol causing the Lexus to flip over and sending splintered pieces of the guardrail 200 feet below onto Sepulveda Boulevard.

According to the California Highway Patrol while the Lexus was rolled over a Toyota Corolla struck it and this up-righted the Lexus. The driver of the Lexus has been identified as Kevin Rahedane age 33 and resident of West Hills. Rahedane was transported to the hospital with fractured ribs, serious head injuries and other injuries; the California Highway Patrol reported Rahedane was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
According to the California Highway Patrol the driver of the Toyota Corolla was a teenager with passengers in the vehicle all of whom reportedly had minor injuries.

The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes of the 101 Freeway in the vicinity of Sepulveda Boulevard and according to the California Highway Patrol the eastbound lanes remain closed while investigators were there and crews clearing away the vehicles. The lanes reopened at approximately 2:51 a.m.
